This project started from a materiality such as the Stone Age project. The collection formulates new visual language about essence and potential of concrete material. On side of experiment, this project is to research and test diverse potentials of existing material like concrete. Concrete material, used for a modern architecture a lot, is described as heavy mass and solidity that facilitate correct function for a long time as a desk accessory. I want to show characteristic of the material by engraving texture of woods on the surface of design as concrete become a solid state from a liquid state in process of time. The sharp shape is engraved with the texture of pine wood, and the round shape is also engraved with the texture of ash wood. Finally, production process is used for the beauty of design object. You do not need any joint to make desk accessories, like a pencil case, a photo holder and a paper weight, with Concrete Age because it has a proper weight for a function. Concrete Age with six colors is not only a functional object but a playful good.

Concrete Age프로젝트는 Stone Age프로젝트와 높은 연관성을 가지고 있다. 이번 프로젝트는 재질의 본질과 새로운 가능성에 대한 디자인적 시각을 나타내려 하였다. 최근의 화두인 새로운 재질이 적용된 디자인이 아닌, 우리가 익숙하게 사용하는 재질에 대한 끊임없는 가능성에 대한 연구와 실험에 집중한 작업이다. 모던 건축의 기본 재질인 콘크리트의 높은 질량과 견고함은 오랜 시간 데스크 액세서리로서 주어진 기능을 수행 할 수 있다. 또한 재질의 특성을 -초기의 액상 상태에서 시간의 경과에 따라 고체의 상태로 변화- 시각적으로 표현하기 위하여, 제품의 표면에 나뭇결 무늬를 적용하였다. 소나무의 무늬결은 원형 형태의 디자인에 사용 되었으며, 물푸레나무의 무늬결은 각진 형태에 새겨 넣었다. 이러한 생산과정의 현상을 시각적 요소로 사용하므로 서, 콘크리트 재질의 특성을 제품의 형태로 표현 하였다. Concrete Age는 부수적 연결 부품 사용하지 않고, 재질의 무게를 이용하여 다양한 데스크 액세서리 용품 -연필꽂이, 문진, 사진 홀더 등- 으로 구성이 가능하다. 네 가지 컬러의 컬렉션은 책상 위의 기능적인 제품으로 서 뿐만 아닌, 즐거움을 표현하는 수단이 되어 줄 것이다.
