The starting point of works from JinSik Kim is to explore a line for different shapes. What he believes in is that an object, consisting of 2D lines, has to have clarity and preciseness if it exists in environment here. You cannot only watch unstable lines with a function on his design but also there is a minimal line added into the design to make objects stable by standing on its own. That method is dissolved on the collections like a bowl to put fruits or a table to place something. He is extremely interested in find a connecting point out for balance between lines, as a designer. It is for people to savor slowly function or message hidden in shapes of the objects metaphorically for a long time. You can feel tension and liveliness from that asymmetric shape becomes stable.

새로운 형태에 대한 탐구는 선에서 시작한다. 2차원적인 선이 사물을 이루는 부분이 되어 여기, 공간에 존재한다면 아주 정확하고 명백한 이유여야 할 것이다. 기능할 수 있는 어떠한 선의 형상은 불안정해 보인다. 무언가를 담기 위한 그릇이나 올려두기 위한 테이블, 유희를 위한 도구가 되기 위해 변형된 선이 수평적인 대지 위에 자립할 수 있도록 최소한의 선을 더했다. 선과 선이 균형을 이루는 지점을 찾아내는 과정은 디자이너로서 매우 흥미롭다. 비대칭적인 형상이 안정을 이루는 모습은 재미있는 긴장감과 생동감이 느껴진다. 기능 또는 메시지가 형태에 은유적으로 숨겨져 있어 사물을 천천히 오랫동안 음미할 수 있을 것이다.
